Youseum is a small game/installation made for the Belvedere & Subotron Playing Art Jam 2026. The goal was to use assets from the Belvedere online collection, and we turned lots of old paintings into a collage character creator!
Players connect with their phone, create a collage character and then walk around in yet another collage of painterly locations.
It has a rather interesting yet simple backend: a Unity application, a Firebase Realtime Database and a Netlify web app. Players scan a QR code shown in Unity and get directed to a web page where their phone becomes the controller.
