Lost Sin(gnl)
A two player game jam game about decrypting messages via additive synthesis of sine waves.
details
Lost Sin(gnl) is a local coop game for two players, made in 48 hours at the 12th MMArmalade game jam with the theme Lost Signal. It was built in Unity and is played on a single gamepad.
The players are cold war agents (in a soviet-wave pixel look) decrypting messages via additive synthesis: each player controls one sine wave’s frequency and phase, and the two waves add up to match a target wave. Every match plays a new decrypted message and increases the score. Pressing both joysticks together smacks the oscilloscope for a new target wave. You have two minutes to reach a highscore, while listening to the live signal you are creating.
The game won the best game mechanic award of the jam :)
